In some conversations does it seem that sometimes people listen to reply?
I’ve seen and learned something from one of my specialists who listens to understand.
The doctor will listen, ask for clarification.. Then the diagnosis and then give the treatment plan. The doctor and the practice exudes wisdom emanating from understanding, Stephen Covey also taught this.
A dash of wisdom from Proverbs 10:13 states that “Wise words come from the lips of people with understanding.” Respect for others, care for them and their opinions undergirds listening to understand.
“We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak,” a quote is attributed to Epictetus, a Greek philosopher, adds more flavor to this dash of wisdom.
