
One needed element in the building of life and friendships — patience.
Reactive behavior can erupt in the heat of the moment. Patience can prompt us to respond with grace and compassion — what is happening in the other person’s life?
A wise person from the past (Augustine) wrote the following dash of wisdom relating to wisdom — “Patience is the companion of wisdom.”
The development of a fully formed fetus takes nine (9) months.
Fruit trees do not produce fruit in the first year.
The summer garden, planted after the last frost, produces its produce later in the heat of summer.
A fine meal takes time to follow the recipe, gather the ingredients, combine the ingredients, and WAIT for the results – then eat!
While we see these facts in nature, we need to wisely apply this to human nature.
“A person’s wisdom yields patience” (Proverbs 19:11)
